After a delicious and relaxing breakfast with a glorious view over the sea start this day stage towards north to Vila do Bispo, village where the famous conquer Vasco da Gama lived. It is one the few places in the Algarve where the wild nature blended with the historic and cultural heritage remains intact. Cycling southern toward the coastline again you will pass small traditional villages as Figueira, Burgau and Aldeia da Luz, through the narrow roads in the small and very typical country side villages that you’ll pass and their distinctive architecture and painting – white washed houses with bands of color around the windows and doors. Just before you arrive in Lagos don’t miss the opportunity to visit the Ponta da Piedade, of the Algarve famous postcards.

Day 3 - Lagos - Armação de Pêra 60kms / 37.5mi

If you enjoyed the city of Lagos, one of the most preserved traditional cities of the Algarve, you will definitely be amazed about what’s to come! In this day you start cycling close to the golden sand beach of Meia Praia and then along the Alvor bay to reach the famous Praia da Rocha. Then you briefly enter in Portimão city following the Arade river. Crossing to the other side of the river you will find Ferragudo an ancient small fishing village full of histories to tell. Take some time to taste the fresh fish or seafood just catch early in the morning before you proceed. Just a few miles away you will pass by Lagoa, land of wine and traditions. Cycling towards the coastline again you will pass by Senhora da Rocha, another famous postcard of the region.

Day 4 – Armação de Pêra - Faro - 55kms / 38mi

Start the day with panoramic views over the Albufeira touristic city and it’s passionate coast. In this stage you will cycle along the central area of the Algarve and will be noticeable how the landscape changes as you pass from the barlavento to the sotavento area of the Algarve. The cliffs are replaced by extensive sand beaches as you get to Vilamoura. As Albufeira this is a famous summer destination and passing by the Marina you will clearly understand why it is..
Just beside Vilamoura you will find Quarteira, not so exquisite but it has a long lovely boardwalk by the sea. Don’t miss the local typical fish market every morning.

Proceeding along the coastline it’s time to pass by the most luxurious area of the Algarve, Vale do Logo and then Quinta do Lago. Arriving the lake you will meet your “new travel partner “, the Ria Formosa. In an amazing scenery, you will keep riding until you arrive in Faro, the capital of the Algarve. Once in Faro, the capital of the Algarve, ride around the charming cobblestone streets and see the Arco da Vila.

Day 5 - Faro - Tavira - 47kms / 29mi

Leaving Faro you´ll cycle through the unspoiled coastal countryside and quaint fishing villages to your next destination, Tavira. As you ride the natural park of Ria Formosa and its wonderful colors, discover why it was elected one of the 7 Natural Wonders of Portugal with its abundant wildlife. Last stop of the day is Tavira, a town sometimes called the 'Venice of the Algarve' after its location that straddles the River Gilão. Rich in history, you will find Roman bridges, Renaissance churches, and historical monuments.

Overnight at Tavira.

Day 6 - Tavira - Vila Real de Santo António (Monte Gordo) - 47kms / 29mi

Then you will arrive at most stunning place of this travel, Cacela Velha. An historical place located over one of the world’s most beautiful beach Proceeding your ride you will pass by the villages of Manta Rota and Altura, very popular in summertime before you ride north to the Castro Marim nature reserve. Great communication for the start - clear and friendly emails. Short taxi ride from Lisbon airport. Pedro greeted me and got me sorted for my journey. Breathtaking ride up coast to Porto. Bike was perfect for all conditions and performed flawlessly. Dropped it back at Porto premises and, again, Pedro greeted me. Had really good chat about possible future rides - and I will use tese guys again. Wonderful experience !

A very professional and well run organisation. The bikes and gearing were of the highest quality so the equipment never missed a beat. Pedro was very accomodating with pick up and drop off and the whole adventure was a huge success in part to his organisation. The complete package

Pedro and his team could not have been more helpful over the two years that we tried to ride the Portugese Camino. It was put back twice because of COVID. Nothing was too much trouble, and they credited us each time we had to postpone. When we eventually started (March 2022) the bikes were brilliant and top-notch - over 620km they were faultless. Drop off in Santiago was easy. I could not recommend this company highly enough. They were excellent. And I proposed to my (now) fiancee Rachel in the square in front of the cathedral. And she said yes! Strange things happen on the Camino! Thanks again Guys - you were brilliant in all aspects of your support. Roger and Rachel xx

We hired bikes for 2020 but could not start the Portugese Camino until April 2022. Pedro and his team could not have been more helpful and honoured our credit in full. The bikes were top class and we had no issues. I could not recommend Pedro and his team highly enough. Roger and Rachel.

It was the 1st time (but not the last) i worked and ordered 5 bicycles with Gocyclingportugal. I have to confess, as the organiser of a Tour from Porto-Lamego-Lisbon and back, I was not sure that the bicycles would be at the airport on time so that we could start the Tour immediately from there after landing in Porto. My friends would hate me for the rest of my life, if not 🤣. But Pedro and his teammate were on time. Once again thanks Gocyclingportugal. Everything went right and we were happy to ride on Scott Addict bikes! 👌🏼🚴🏼‍♂️ GG
